Dust & Mist Collectors
Nearly every manufacturing process creates some type of dust, mist or fume.
At S.L.Cooke our distributors and installation experts will always custom match the dust, mist or fume collector to fit your unique application.
How do mist collectors work?
Mist collectors filter the air in machine shops in order to remove harmful oil mist from CNC machines, milling and grinding processes. Electrostatic precipitators work by drawing the mist-laden air through an ionizer that gives each droplet either a positive or a negative charge. The charged droplets are then captured by collection cells that utilize alternating high voltage and grounded plates to push/pull the charged droplets onto the plate.
What are mist collectors used for?
Dust and mist collectors are packaged, custom designed media, for the capture of smoke, dust, fumes, and odors. A mist collector’s major function is to remove mist and smoke droplets from the filtered airstream. To accomplish this task a collector must coalesce small drops into larger ones, and then drain the collected coolant from the filters before they plug.
Uses include: welding, machining, grinding, printing, woodworking, school shops, auto body, and many other applications. System can be used for ambient air cleaning or source capture. Media filter, and HEPA filter units are available.

Dust, Mist & Fume Collector Units
Saving energy and increasing production efficiency while controlling indoor air quality is a challenging aspect of plant management. Dust extractors, whether used for pollution control or product recovery, can impact all these areas. S.L.Cooke can help solve your dust problems.
DOWNDRAFT BENCHES - DRY & WET
Downshaft benches are self-contained workbenches with built-in dust and fume extractor systems. Users simply work on the downdraught bench, table or booth’s surface. Dust or fumes are drawn down through the extraction bench’s surface, into the internal filters.
OIL MIST COLLECTORS
Mist collectors filter the air in machine shops in order to remove harmful oil mist from CNC machines, milling and grinding processes. Oil mist can become oil smoke when exposed to high temperatures and the oil starts to burn before emitting into the air.
BAGHOUSE DUST COLLECTORS
A baghouse, also known as a baghouse filter, bag filter, or fabric filter is an air pollution control device and dust collector that removes particulates or gas released from commercial processes out of the air.
CYCLONE DUST COLLECTORS
A cyclone separator is an apparatus for the separation, by centrifugal means, of fine particles suspended in air or gas. Electrostatic precipitators are a type of air cleaner, which charges particles of dust by passing dust-laden air through a strong (50-100 kV) electrostatic field.
MIST ELIMINATORS
Mist eliminators are used in scrubbing towers to remove any acid mist that forms in the chamber by separating droplets that are present in the inlet gas from the outlet gas stream.
WET DUST COLLECTORS
The wet collector continuously and violently intermixes water with the incoming airstream, separating dust using centrifugal force and trapping dust particles into water droplets. The mist eliminator filter prevents water vapor from leaving the exhaust.
CARTRIDGE PULSE DUST COLLECTORS
Cartridge collectors are modular, compact industrial air filtration systems engineered to capture fine dust particulate. Common applications for cartridge dust collectors include welding, grinding, bulk powder, foundries and more.
